"So Bad" is the debut title track by STAYC. It is the first song on the group's first single album "Star To A Young Culture". The song was released on November 12, 2020.

Lyrics and composition[]

The song's genre combines drum and bass and synth-wave. The song, described as a whirlwind of retro synth arpeggios, distinct vocal tones, staccato verses, a hyper rhythm that keeps things moving, and aglow with glistening synth arpeggio and sprightly drum-and-bass, expresses the feelings of someone who genuinely likes the person who has stolen their heart and hopes that person will accept her feelings.

Music video[]

On the same day that the song was published, the music video became viral, receiving over 2.6 million views in the first 24 hours after it was posted. Hayoung Lee and Minjun Lee directed the video.

Plagiarism accusation[]

On November 16, 2020, Korean netizens spotted similarities between the "So Bad" music video and Miley Cyrus's music video for "Midnight Sky". Legend Film, the music video production business, apologized just a few days after the complaints were made.

Description[]

So Bad shows "the essence of K-Pop with the know-how Black Eyed Pilseung have developed over the last 10 years." It's a song that will be an important indicator of STAYC's musical life going forward. [1]
