"Bubble" is a song by STAYC. It is the title track and first song off the group's third mini album, TEENFRESH. The song, along with the album, were released on August 16, 2023.
Background and release[]
On July 24, 2023, High Up Entertainment announced that STAYC would release their third extended play, Teenfresh, on August 16. The promotional schedule was revealed the next day. It was also announced that "Bubble" will be the lead single. On August 9, the first music video teaser for "Bubble" was unveiled. Five days later, a highlight medley teaser video was published. On August 15, the second music video teaser for "Bubble" was unveiled. On August 16, the song was released, along with the extended play and music video.
Composition[]
"Bubble" was written and composed by the pair B.E.P, with Jeon Goon contributing lyrics, Flyt composing and arranging, and Rado arranging. It was described as a song with "light synth bass" and a "addictive hook that listeners will not forget once they hear it." "Bubble" was written in the key of A major at a speed of 132 beats per minute.
Promotions[]
Prior to the release of Teenfresh on August 16, 2023, the group hosted a live event to showcase the extended play and its tracks, including "Bubble," as well as to engage with their fans. The trio then appeared on two music shows during the first week: KBS's Music Bank on August 18 and SBS's Inkigayo on August 20. During their second week of marketing, they appeared on four music programs: Mnet's M Countdown on August 24, Music Bank on August 25, MBC's Show! Music Core on August 26, and Inkigayo on August 27. During the third week of marketing, they performed on two music shows: SBS M's The Show on August 29, MBC M's Show Champion on August 30, M Countdown on August 31, and Music Bank on September 1, Show! Music Core on September 2, and Inkigayo on September 3, where they won their first place for their appearance in The Show and Music Bank.
Commercial performance[]
In the chart issue dated August 13–19, 2023, "Bubble" had its debut at number 69 on South Korea's Circle Digital Chart. The song also debuted at number eight on its component charts, number 107 on the Circle Streaming Chart, and number 31 on the Circle BGM Chart. The following week, it ascended to number 21 on the Circle Digital Chart and number 26 on the Circle Streaming Chart.
